The plot of Bridgerton season three revolves around Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton. Penelope is looking for a husband who can provide her independence after she gives up on her long-term crush on Colin because of hurtful comments. However, her recurrent failures in the marriage market expose her lack of confidence.
After his summer travels, Colin has a different attitude and is ready to make amends with Penelope. Colin struggles with the idea that his affection for Penelope might go beyond friendship as he offers to mentor her in confidence. On the other hand, Penelope struggles to maintain her identity as Lady Whistledown while rising to prominence in society and managing a troubled friendship with Eloise.
