After going through all the events that have happened in the past few months, Netflix has decided to cancel a few Web series which includes “Shadow and Bone,” “Glamorous”, Agent Elvis,” “Farzar,” and “Captain Fall.”
With this announcement they have confirmed that they are not going to produce the sequels for the above “5” web series. Among these 5 Web series 3 of them are Animated Series with Adult comedy as their soul.
In our previous article we have clearly stated why Netflix has discontinued “Agent Elvis” please go through it once. More or less , Netflix’s reason to cancel or discontinue a Web series is similar.
More surprisingly, the decision to cancel these “5” web series was announced after the SAG-AFTRA strike ended. You may be surprised why Netflix has taken this bold decision even after good news i.e. after the strike concluded, Right ? .
Here is the exact Reason : Netflix has done its calculations and after the in depth evaluation of the production shutdown caused by the 7 month Strike and based on the viewership numbers they have decided to cancel the series.
WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes result in the delay of writing and production, which prevented the shooting schedules which in turn caused the delay in release dates.
For the last 7 months Netflix has abstained from discontinuing or canceling seasons on its platforms. Even though many of its competitors had discontinued and canceled many series, Netflix has never done anything. Instead it took this as an opportunity and has announced many sequels and renewals for various series. Few of them include “Heartstopper” (Seasons 2 and 3),”The Diplomat” (Season 2), “The Lincoln Lawyer” (Season 3) etc.
Why Did Netflix Cancel These “5” Series ?
As we have stated earlier, Netflix has taken a dynamic decision to discontinue 5 Series which include Shadow and Bone,” “Glamorous,” “Agent Elvis,” “Farzar,” and “Captain Fall,”.
Main Reason behind the show’s cancellation is “ Its performance and viewership is not where near to the production cost”. So they have decided to cut down the costs and the best way to do so is by canceling the series.
We are not saying “Production cost to show performance ratio is the only metric they have taken into consideration in canceling the series. They have considered a few other factors like “impact of strike” and “delay in production” etc.
During the 7 month period the production was halted and the after-effects of the strike will have even more impact on the financial decisions. Keeping in mind all these things they have decided to cancel the Web Series.
List of Series Canceled BY Netflix in Mid November

Shadow and Bone:
It is adapted from Leigh Bardugo’s popular Grishaverse novels and has gained huge popularity among Netflix users. “Shadow and Bone” has a separate fan base and we are not exaggerating on it. Seeing its fame , makers are planning for a video game.
Shadow and Bone has two seasons i.e. Shadow and Bone Season 1 and Shadow and Bone season 2 with a total of 16 episodes.
Shadow and Bone Season 1 premiered on April 23, 2021 with 8 episodes. Similarly Season 2 was premiered on March 16, 2023
Shadow and Bone was created by Eric Heisserer and its star cast includes Jessie Mei Li, Archi Renaux, Freddy Carter, Amita Suman, Kit Young, and Ben Barnes.
Does Shadow and Bone have Season 3 ?
No. Netflix has recently canceled and discontinued the web series after two seasons.
Glamorous :
Glamorous Season 1 was released in the month of June and it has captivated the netflix users globally. This series enjoyed success initially and even slated in Netflix’s top 10 for two consecutive weeks.
The show revolved around Marco, portrayed by trans YouTube personality Miss Benny, who played an aspiring influencer and gender non-conforming individual passionate about cosmetics.
It’s quite unfortunate that the initial success and hype which “Glamorous” has got was not sustained. So Netflix has decided to cancel the series and tune your mind that “Glamorous Season 2 is not going to happen”.
Agent Elvis :
Agent Elvis premiered in the month of march with Matthew McConaughey as the voice of Elvis Presley was an animated web series.
Farzar :
A sci-fi and animated comedy Web series premiered in July 2022, follows Prince Fichael and his team battling aliens beyond their city’s dome. The series comes from the creators of “Paradise PD.”
Captain Fall :
It is another animated web series which got canceled recently by Netflix. Actually
The series was slated for a 20-episode debut season released in two parts.
Part 1 premiered in July and failed to captivate the Users. So the decision to cancel the series was taken.
As of now all these Web Series are discontinued by Netflix. But who knows maybe other streaming platforms may renew them and start the production.
One such speculation which has been viral in the social media is “Shadow and Bone” may be seen on a new streaming platform.
