A new Hallmark Christmas film, which opens on Friday, Nov. 24, at 6 p.m., will have a prominent role for a girl from Rhode Island. The character Izzy is portrayed by East Greenwich fourth grader Taylor Pezza in the holiday movie “Letters to Santa,” which should not be confused with Hallmark’s 2018 release “Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa.”
The movie’s plot is that two siblings, one of whom Pezza plays as Izzy, “receive a magic pen from Santa that appears to be granting wishes.” “They request a Christmas gift they want more than anything – for their separated parents to reunite.”
“Letters to Santa” Star Cast
The mother role [ Named Rebecca] is portrayed by Katie Leclerc, who previously acted in the ABC Family series “Switched at Birth.” She also plays one of Raj Koothrappali’s girlfriends in a recurring role on “Big Bang Theory”.
Rafael de la Fuente, who has acted in “Dynasty,” “Empire,” and “When We Rise,” plays the father, Enrique, opposite Leclerc.
Kellen Raffaelo plays the brother of Pezza’s character in the movie. The two have played siblings on-screen twice before. In the 2022 short film “Curious Creatures,” they also played a brother and sister.
What Movies Will “Letters to Santa” Remind You Of?
Letters to Santa is similar to Elf in that it centres on a character who is writing a book based on the events depicted in the film. And there’s also a mature man from out of town who is human, but some believe to be an elf.
Additionally, I could hardly watch the last scene of Letters to Santa without being reminded of the Barbie movie sequence where the Kens serenade the Barbies with Matchbox Twenty’s song “Push,” while Enrique is strumming his guitar and singing to Rebecca.
